Our Vision

Our Vision

Like the hub of a wheel, Elephant and Castle lies at the very centre of the commercial arteries that serve Greater London. Only minutes from eleven Thames river crossings and served by the tube, buses, overland rail and potentially two new tram routes, this is one of the capital's best connected localities.

Our plan is simple
We want to return the heart to Elephant and Castle - to create a place where people travel to, not through.

Over the past two years, we have been testing, refining and consulting upon a development framework that will underpin the radical transformation of Elephant and Castle over the next ten years.

Key Features

  • £1.5 billion development
  • 170-acre area
  • 75,000m2 of retail space
  • 5,300 new and replacement homes
  • five new open spaces
  • two tram routes
  • new market square
  • landmark buildings
  • new city Academy
  • civic heart for Southwark.

"The framework has the support of Southwark's politicians, the London Mayor, 80% of the local community and one of Elephant's most famous sons" - Sir Michael Caine.
