Arts Fest at Camberwell College of Arts 7 May to 31 August 2004

Camberwell College of Arts is a specialist arts college with an international reputation. It is part of the London Institute, the world's largest centre for education in arts, design and communication. In May 2004 The London Institute will change its name to 'University of the Arts London' becoming the most comprehensive arts university in the UK.

To celebrate the new title, Camberwell College of Arts will hold a special programme of events over the summer called ARTS FEST, that gives members of the public an opportunity to get involved with the work of the many artists, teachers and students who are connected with the College. The programme includes workshops, exhibitions, performances, conferences, lectures as well as the annual Degree Shows of graduating student work. Most of the events are free, some are organised by other organisations.

Highlights include ‘in conversations’ with Maggi Hambling, performance workshop with La Ribot; Artivists, an artists-led festival of performances at Peckham Library and Peckham Square and the first ever Open House at the College, during which the College will open up its doors and welcome local families, young people, students, artists and art lovers with scores of free and exciting events and hands-on activities for everybody.

Camberwell Artsweek also have arts events running this summer (to be announced by Camberwell Artsweek) making Camberwell the major focus for national and international Visual Arts happening in London this year.
